My name is Sophia Setareh Kiapos. I’m a Persian-Greek-American filmmaker, producer, writer, and multidisciplinary artist with roots in dance and classical theatre. I trained in ballet for over a decade before studying dramaturgy at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and Chekhovian studies at the Stella Adler Studio in New York. My evolution into filmmaking has been self-driven, and my love for cinema is shaped by movement, memory, and visual storytelling. My work spans narrative shorts, features and documentaries, branded content, commercials, and dance films. I’ve directed 30+ international dubbing projects across Netflix, Hulu, Disney, and Amazon Studios.

 

I’m drawn to stories that invite thought, poetry and feeling. Inspirations include Carl Jung, Tarkovsky, Yogananda, Majidi, Attar, Rumi, and other deep thinkers and poetic artists.

 

I facilitate creative retreats and mentor budding artists.
